Load distribution in beam-grille bridge
Tests on 1:5 prestressed concrete scale model in connection with elevated expressway in Caracas, Venezuela; bridge consists of prefabricated prestressed concrete main beams and stiffener beams forming beam grill; model analysis was undertaken to study behavior of grill under concentrated traffic, especially with regard to load distribution; comparison of experimentally obtained results shows fair agreement with values obtained by theoretical analysis following Guyon-Massonnet method.
