Repair of prestressed concrete beams after damage by fire
Repair carried out to soffit and sides of precast, prestressed beams is described; method used involved full live loading to simulate conditions of original design; full loading condition also provided satisfactory test of composite construction and combination of prestressed concrete and in-situ reinforced concrete acting together as continuous structure; new covering increased original width of beams by 3 in. and depth by 1 1/2 in.
