Problems of location and economics in providing proper and adequate heating and ventilating for Gould Memorial Hospital at Presque Isle, Me are discussed; location of hospital is subjected to long winters with extended periods of temperatures as low as -40 F; frost extends from 6 to 8 ft below surface of ground; site is surrounded by hills, which constitute potential draft problem.
