K-type bracing for long-span bridge trusses
Supplementary rapid-transit system of two bridges on new 38-mi. Connellsville extension of Pittsburg and West Virginia Railway Co., utilizing K-type bracing for their web system; crossings involve three double-deck K-braced trusses of 200, 350 and 450-ft. spans and single-track deck truss bridge over Youghiogheny River, with K-braced span of 370 ft.; economics claimed over Warren or Baltimore bracing for trusses up to 450-ft. span.
