Action of hydrogen on carbides of iron and chromium
Action of hydrogen on carbides of iron and chromium; mechanism of hydrogen attack involving (1) decarburization of steel as hydrogen penetrates it, assisted by intercrystalline cracking, and (2) diffusion of carbon from still unaltered parts to those that have undergone change. (See also Aug 26 1938 p 156-7; abstract in Metallurgist (supp to Engineer))
