Initial stages of fatigue phenomenon in carbon steel
Study of fatigue in 0.4 and 0.9% carbon steel particularly aspects of plastic deformation not accompanied by measurable work hardening, and first submicroscopic appearance of distorted coherency structure which appears exclusively on surface of specimens and is probably result of local stress concentrations. (see also English translation in Metals Treatment and Drop Forging v 26 n 168 Sept 1959 p 305-13)
