Shrinkage stresses in composite floors
In beams and slabs of composite construction stresses develop due to differential shrinkage of components; topping is generally cast over precast beams and two eventually act together structurally; shrinkage of topping will be partly resisted by beams and stresses will therefore be present in combined section.
