Deformation and cracking of hardened cement paste when shrinkage is restrained
Investigation of internal stresses in concrete; in dry concrete unit, shrinkage of cement paste is restained by aggregate, and paste will tend to be in tension and aggregate in compression; this is counteracted by creep in paste and in aggregate; results on condition at cracking, unit shrinkage with age, loss of weight with age, and relationship between elastic strain and age.
