Lightweight concrete deck for Tappan Zee bridge main spans
Use of 6 3/4 in. concrete slab covered with 1-in. asphalt weaving course on roadways of 1200 ft center span and two 600-ft wide spans of Tappan Zee cantilever bridge, 3-mi, 6-lane Hudson River crossing of New York State Thruway; high strength concrete produced by using cement factors similar to those for normal weight concrete through use of drier consistencies with lowered total water content.
