Solving problem in soil stabilization
To excavate foundation of new 3-building post office at The Hague, Holland, it was necessary to stabilize sandy soil by chemical injection to prevent settlement of adjacent old post building; Guttman process used consists of injecting sodium silicate, sodium carbonate and later calcium chloride into ground through perforated pipes; provision of supplementary support to prevent slipping; test results.
