Pile fitted with exterior concrete jacket at its tip, is designed to sit in river bottom's crust instead of penetrating through it to firm bearing; combination friction and bearing pile consists of 11 in. diam steel pipe welded at its bottom to 15 in. diam steel plate, 1 1/8 in. thick; cast around its tip is 8 ft long reinforced concrete jacket that tapers from 15 in. up to 22 in. diam.
