Results of investigation in 1923 of experimental drain-tile and concrete-block installations at 8 alkali-bearing projects in West; concludes that best quality of concrete will disintegrate when exposed to severe alkali attack; and that installations of concrete in soils containing more than one per cent of sulphate type should be preceded by examination of surrounding conditions.
