Rock anchor design
Rock bolts were designed to stabilize vertical rock cut in near horizontal stratified rock; concrete wall with heights from 78 to 97 ft is to be bolted to rock cut; walls form sides of spillway stilling basin and powerhouse tailrace; design considered various loading conditions which included gravity and water forces; potential failure planes were analyzed along most critical of joints and weaknesses known to exist; in estimating water loads, range of possible operating conditions was considered.
