Umpqua jetty surveillance program
Construction methods utilized by U S Army Engr District Portland, Ore during its 80-yr experience record of building rubblemound jetties are discussed, along with design criteria developed by Corps of Engineers for required weight of individual stones in primary cover layer of rubblemound jetties; results of 1963 and 1964 continuing prototypes study of Umpqua River, Ore, ocean jetty are presented; surveillance program was carried out to improve criteria for design and construction of rubblemound jetties along Oregon coast.
