Horizontal seepage through unconfined aquifers with nonuniform hydraulic conductivity
Equation is derived to describe seepage through un-confined aquifers when soil hydraulic conductivity varies with horizontal position in direction of flow; for seepage through dams with vertical faces extending to impermeable floor, this equation leads to same formula as that obtained using Dupuit-Forchheimer analysis; for drainage of incident rainfall to ditches extending to impermeable floor, it gives relationship which involves function of hydraulic head distribution at medial plane between ditches and lies between two expressions relating water-table height, drain spacing, rainfall rate and soil hydraulic conductivity.
