Overall hydro and thermal insulation of hydraulic structures
On basis of design proposed by P.D.Glebov in 1934, Kislogubsk tidal power plant, concrete of which passes up to 300 freezing-thawing cycles per year, is protected by insulation comprising reinforced concrete layer, asphalt mat, claydite asphalt concrete and impregnated groove-and-tongue boards; for 10 to 20 cm thick claydite asphalt concrete layer and thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.2 kcal/m hr deg C water in concrete does not freeze.
