Signboard footings to resist wind loads
Drilled reinforced-concrete footings are used by Texas Highway Department as standard foundation for highway sign structures; footing is efficient in resisting overturning loads and is economical and easy to install; authors' design procedure includes equations for determining footing depth and for determining soil pressures on footing; representative soil samples from area of installation are required.
