Calculation of negative friction acting on piles
Zeevaert's design method for compensated friction pile foundations (see Engineering Index 1962 p 482) is extended to piles of external row in pile system, and to case of negative friction acting in foundation soil consisting of two layers with different properties; diagrams facilitating use of Zeevaert formulas are presented, and limits of their application are discussed.
