Visco-elastic fluid flow in entrance of tube
Semi-empirical method is presented which permits prediction of "entrance length", and "entrance pressure drop" of laminar flow of non-Newtonian visco-elastic fluid into entrance of circular tube; only required information for this calculation is knowledge of pipe diameter, mean velocity, and rheological parameters of fluid; in addition, data concerning laminar flow of aqueous solution of ET-597. Dow Chemical long chain polymer, both in entrance region and in established zone is presented.
