Estimate of lifetime of pressed matrix cathode
From consideration of thermochemical reactions and mechanism for supplying barium to emitting surface of pressed cathode, expression is derived for calculating cathode lifetime; calculated lifetime agrees satisfactorily with experimental data for this type of cathode.
