Experience with full heat-storage floor heating system
With insulated heating cable maintained at 70 C at bottom of thick concrete slab, and with temperature of concrete in cable plane maintained at 35 C, about 50 cal/hr pass to slab surface; two-level 9-room house with 165 sq m living area and four full heat-storage floors required 12 kw installed power; additional heat was provided by conventional heated floors in bathrooms, and tubular heaters under picture windows; capital cost savings compared with oil heating amounted to 4.5% of total building costs.
