Bending behavior of toroidal shells
Purpose of investigation is to review available analytic solutions and transform usual governing differential equations for shells of revolution such that singularities at crown will be eliminated, to establish numerical procedure for solution of transformed and auxiliary equations, to provide wide range of edge and internal influence coefficients as well as deformation of shell segments including crown under internal pressure and vertical edge loads for practical applications, and to compare results obtained by present method with those obtained by other solutions.
