Laboratory tests on asphaltic concrete for impervious membrane on Venemo rock-fill dam
Article concerns tests made on asphaltic concrete to be used for upstream membrane of 60-m high rock-fill Venemo Dam; tests consisted of determination of permeability of asphaltic concrete to water and bitumen, compression tests, slope tests and tests which aim at determining effects of waves, ice and solar radiation; tests show that, in order to obtain asphaltic concrete which satisfies demands for impermeability and durability, concrete should have air porosity of less than 3 to 4%.
