Dynamic behavior of noncohesive embankment models
Results of testing seven embankment models of noncohesive material and analog computation are presented; three points are emphasized -- unstable equilibrium of embankments with slope inclinations larger than angle of repose; similitude of requirements as inferred from comparison among models in all respects alike but of different linear dimensions (60 cm and 100 cm in height); agreement of simplified analog simulation with behavior of physical models when unstable equilibrium does not obtain.
