Problems arising from operation and maintenance of evacuation structures of dams -- lessons to be drawn; behavior and conditions of maintenance of evalucation structures of some hundred dams operated by Electricite de France have formed subject of enquiry, with aim of drawing lessons therefrom for application to future structures; equipment of surface, bottom and intermediate evacuation structures and civil engineering work for these structures; attention is particularly drawn to problems of energy dissipation downstream of spillways and outlets.
