Copper in redbeds of south-central Kansas
Study was made of copper content of Ninnescah Shale and Milan Dolomite Member of Wellington Formation in south-central Kansas; five east-west sampling traverses were made across outcrop in four-county area; channel samples numbering 411 were analyzed by X-ray spectroscopy for copper; copper, as mineral malachite, was found to be highest (6.65% Cu as metal) in Runnymede Sandstone Member of Ninnescah Shale in Harper County, Kan.
