A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Application of membrane effects, both compressive and tensile, to reinforced concrete slab design is dealt with; development of recommendations is presented and comparison made of load factors against collapse for flat slabs and two-way spanning slabs; load factors for beam-slab structures as determined by yield-line theory assuming various zero-edge strip moments; results of tests on number of square slabs simply supported along edges.
