Flexural stress-strain relationship of concrete confined by rectangular transverse reinforcement
Relationship of bound concrete in flexure was established to study plastic deformation capacity of critical regions reinforced with longitudinal and transverse reinforcement; 16 specimens were tested in specially constructed testing frame under action of major and minor load; stress-strain relationship for concrete was obtained by approach similar to that used by E.Hognestad, N.W.Hanson and D.McHenry in conjunction with special graphical interpolation technique; generalized relationship was developed expressed as function of spacing of binders, ratio of bound area to total area to total area under compression, size of binders, and shape of concrete cross-section.
