Methods of reducing size and number of voids on formed concrete surfaces
Form-coating materials were tested on vertical and overhanging metal and wood forms to determine their effectiveness in reducing surface voids; results indicated that amount of vibration of concrete mixture affects incidence of surface voids; voids on vertical surfaces can be reduced to acceptable level by sufficient vibration; slick, smooth form coatings may be beneficial in some cases in reducing surface voids; concrete bonding inhibitors are not effective in reducing voids.
