Factors affecting relationship between strength and water-cement ratio
Study of several aspects such as effects of age, cement type, type of strength, and type of concrete; analysis of experimental results indicated that change in relative strength caused by given change in water-cement ratio is greater in -- early strengths of concrete than in its strengths at 28 days or later, compressive than flexural and splitting strengths, strengths of concretes made with Type 1 portland cements than with Type III cements, normal-weight concretes than light weight specimens; age appears to have pronounced effect.
