Buckling of elastic-plastic tubular columns
Stability of cantilever columns is analyzed by means of numerical integration technique; solutions are approximated by semi-empirical equations which are used to calculate buckling strength of simply supported columns with arbitrary end eccentricities; numerical examples are given and column curves drawn for wide range of parameters; results of proposed method are discussed in light of interaction equations governing steel members subjected to axial force and bending given in AISC specification.
