Rebound number and quality of mine roof strata
Attempt at quantitative description of roof strata in longwall coal faces is made; depending on convergence, volume of spalling slabs, maximal, self-supporting roof surface and characteristics of roof surface (hardness, fissures, etc) four classes of roofs are established; empirical correlation between results of Schmidt hammer test and roof quality class is established; practical application of suggested method of roof control is presented.
