Concepts of blending highrise buildings (10 or more stories high), office, commercial or residential, into modern cities are discussed and their advantages and disadvantages compared; photographs and layouts of 29 highrise buildings, erected in various parts of world provide documentation; 22 highrise residential blocks are analyzed, insofar living characteristics are concerned, and their average floor areas are tabulated in graphical synopsis; thoughts on future development of cities are outlined and illustrated by sketches.
