Polyvinyl fluoride film, tough, chemically stable, color-durable preformed film finish, was introduced commercially in 1963 after almost two decades of testing and development; applications to Vehicle Assembly Building, Merritt Island, Fla, Esso building in Rome, and Evoluon exhibition building in Holland; film is considered to be major step toward construction of building that will be maintenance-free for 15 to 20 yr.
