Use of light weight building materials in barn construction; Erikson device described was developed for rapid determination of heat transmission resistance; various tests made with device show that gas-silicate boards coated with insulating layer of polystyrene, and of basaltic wool respectively, are best suited for hot roofs; inserted ventilating channels have proved useful as protection against condensation by water vapor.
