Lift bridge at Martrou; 92.4 m long lifting span slides between two pylones, each consisting of two slip-formed reinforced concrete hollow uprights of 3.2×5.5 m rectangular cross section with 24 cm thick walls, 13.35 m c to c, joined at top by transverse structure containing lifting machinery; welded steel construction span consists of two lateral Warren trusses and Robinson slab deck, and carries 7 m wide roadway and two 1.5 m wide sidewalks; span weighing 550 tons can be lifted 28 m in 100 sec; details of pylone foundations, span construction, lifting equipment, and maritime signal system.
