A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Part 2 of British Standards CP117, published in Oct 1967 gives essential rules for design and construction of composite bridges and deals with simply supported and continuous beams subjected to repeated dynamic loadings, to which footpath, highway and railroad bridges may be subjected; problems associated with modular ratio of composite sections, calculation of longitudinal shear between steel beam and slab in region of hogging moment, and use of precast deck elements are discussed.
