Results of compression tests carried out on series of rubber bridge bearings of various types; bearings were incorporated in bridge deck, containing severe skew, on which abnormal loads were imposed; true load distribution in bridge was compared with values obtained from theoretical analysis of skew slabs; tests were first carried out with bearings placed between steel plates; slipping occurred, as no bonding material was present, and further tests were carried out between concrete faces so as to resemble future site conditions; analysis of test results.
