Bins loads
American Iron and Steel Institute contracted with authors to develop improved bin design criteria; new mathematical theory has been postulated in which two different loading conditions were identified -- initial, which occurs on filling, and flow, which occurs on emptying -- and important transient effect of switch from initial to flow was evaluated; design criteria were developed for symmetric mass-flow hoppers; example of design is given.
