Steady state vibration of damped Timoshenko beams
Solution gives beam response at all values of forcing frequency and polar-plots are used for determination of resonant frequencies; to illustrate wide applicability of method, behavior of three beams, typical of those encountered in practice, is studied; results of these examples show importance of considering shear deformation when deter-mining resonant frequencies, and great effect that damping coefficient has on magnitude of response at resonance.
