Longitudinally restrained reinforced concrete beams
Method of analysis was developed which provided reliable solution to behavior of restrained beam; information obtained from computer solution on geometry of deformation and strains, stresses and forces for restrained beam permitted careful analysis of influence of various parameters on behavior; effects of stiffness and eccentricity of end restraints, steel reinforcement and midspan camber were investigated in detail for wide range in slenderness of beam; results of analysis were used to develop simple approximate method to determine load carrying capacity of restrained beam.
