Calculation of flexure-shear strength of prestressed concrete beams
Flexure-shear strength calculations of single-span and continuous prestressed concrete beams are derived from properties of compression zone of beam and deformation and equilibrium conditions; shear carried by compression zone establishes effective moment-shear ratio at section; moment redistribution of failure is based on ultimate strength of critical sections; equations developed show good agreement with observed values of different investigators.
