At new shipyard on eastern seaboard necessary 2-story mold loft building is being constructed of wood; first floor is of concrete laid on ground and second floor, to provide rigid working area for laying out molds or patterns, is on pile footings and columns independent of first floor; entire area of top floor is kept free of columns by supporting roof on 7-ft deep transverse trusses.
