Grease problem in sewage treatment
Suggested method of determining amount of grease in sewage and accumulation of data based on this method; data presented indicate that considerable proportion of ether-soluble matter in sewage can be removed by sedimentation and plain skimming; larger proportion can be removed if sewage is aerated prior to sedimentation and skimming; aero-chlorination accomplishes still larger removal of grease. (See also - discussion p 269-79 also further discussions in n 5 May p 804-6, n 6 June p 1071, n 7 Sept p 1178-80 and n 9 Nov p 1627-8)
