Timber arches for laboratory
Elimination of metal, where possible above 3 ft level, resulted in construction of unusual laboratory building for Army Signal Corps; structure makes use of laminated timber arches for principal roof and sidewall framework; framework between arch ribs is of timber construction, as is that for end walls; special lighting system and non-metallic ducts for heating system are also employed to eliminate use of metal.
