Pendleton levee failure
Levee, constructed in Arkansas, crosses Lake Lennox which is underlain by soft clay which needed to be displaced; in view of this fact, construction of levee presented excellent opportunity for securing data concerning foundation failure; investigations of foundation were made to determine soil conditions and characteristics; data obtained are given along with several analyses of failure employing these data. (See also - discussion p 1797-1800)
