Effect of height of test specimens on compressive strength of concrete
ASTM standard method of Securing Specimens of Hardened Concrete from Structure prescribes correction factors to be applied to compressive strength values of specimens of various heights; results of study reported to determine reliability of factors and whether loss of compressive strength with increase in height of cylindrical specimens cast with long axes vertical may be due to water gain in taller specimens. (see also Concrete v 50 n 10 Oct 1942 p 5-6)
