Fire prevention in building army camps
Knowing that handling more than 50,000,000 b ft of lumber in few weeks would create serious fire hazard, contractor built nine temporary reservoirs in area, each of about 25,000-gal capacity, and equipped two trucks with water tanks of 1000 and 2000 gal capacity; one of five permanent camp fire houses was built immediately and combination firemen watchmen were stationed at strategic points.
