Calculating stiffening girders of suspension bridges
Starting with exact differential equation of bending line of stiffening girder, it is shown that maximum deflections are obtained from deflection of unstiffened cable through multiplication by function whose argument depends on resistance to bending of stiffening girder, its span and momentary pull in cable. (Brief abstracts in French and English.)
