Lateral stability of unsymmetrical I-beams and trusses in bending
Analysis of I-beams, both free and horizontally restrained along bottom edge, and of beams of rectangular cross section horizontally restrained along bottom edge; it is explained that torsional rigidity of trusses and of thin wall I-beams is smaller than would be expected from use of usual formulas for torsional stiffness. (See also - discussion v 68 n 2 Feb 1942 p 299-302, n 3 Mar p 477-9, n 8 Oct p 1404-6)
